Liquor Sale in Selangor : A Test To PAS Political Ideology..

YB Dato.Dr Hassan Ali and YB Ronnie Lui - friend of foe?

For some people, the alcoholic drinks issue in Selangor might be over when MB Dato' Khalid Ibrahim decided there will be no restriction sale in Shah Alam. But for Dr Hassan Ali, state PAS chief commissioner, the struggle to fight for Muslims right in Shah Alam to continue as planned.

The spat over beer brewing when Ronnie Liu, State Local Council boss ordered local council officers to return beer seized from a convenience store in a predominant Muslim-neighbourhood in Shah Alam.

Liu's action sparked an outburst from his fellow friend, Dr.Hassan Ali, person who in charge in Islamic Affairs resulting a call to strip Ronnie's post as state executive councillor. However, Dr. Hassan did made a press statement later denying his call against Ronnie.

And the discomfort situation surroundings PR coalition finally find its way out when MB Dato' Khalid Ibrahim decided not to ban and restrict the liquor sale but the beverages cannot be sold to muslims and under age kids. Thats it.Period.

As a muslims, I bear no grudge against Khalid. Considering he is an MB represent multiracial political party like PKR, to implement Islamic agenda wasn't on his top wish list. Morever, DAP is the second highest stake holder in Selangor government so its rational to please your second highest shared-partner rather than the third ones.

Since Umno took over Malaysia from British, they governed the Tanah Melayu as a secular country. Together with the MCA and the MIC, they formed a very formidable coalition that last long until now. Since then, muslims in this country were denied their right to uphold Sharia' as guidance of life.

When PAS were formed in 1951, the Islamist political party positions itself to establish Malaysia as country based on Islamic Legal Theory derived from primary sources of Islam, the Quran and the Sunnah. And educating the public about the dark side of alcoholic drinks were also part of it.

The 'amar makruf nahi mungkar' philosophy carried out by PAS continues when they were gifted 8 seats in Selangor State Assembly. With limited space and power to maneuver, the Pan-Malaysia Islamic Party however did put their best effort to distance Muslims from liquor consumption.

The proposal was so simple. Restrict the sale of alcohol in predominant Muslims neighborhood in Shah Alam. Its Muslims majority area, I just don't understand why the 'other two friends' refused to grant permission for the residents to exercise their religion and beliefs.

In some places in Malaysia where Muslims are the minority, the non-muslims are allowed to enjoy what claimed to be part of their culture and lifestyle. Disco's ,pubs , karaoke outlet are everywhere. You can drink gallon of beer and dance till dawn if want it. Who cares. Though, we never bother and complain about it albeit I believe there were Muslims involved in such immoral activity like that.

The pig abattoir trouble actually did projected the unprofessionalism of Kedah DAP's comrade in dealing with local issue. Soon after the slaughterhouse was destroyed by the local authority, they promptly pulled out from PR government in Kedah without cponsulting their party leaders. Its chairman, Thomas Su accused that the PAS-led Kedah government insensitive the needs of minorities in the state.

Gratefully the Selangor PAS did not react the same way despite being hampered by criticism over the liquor issue and its showed how PAS valued and appreciated the spirit of friendship in Pakatan Rakyat.

When PAS's top leadership agreed to form a coalition comprising DAP and PKR, there were a big hu-ha raging across the country saying that the Islamic Party are set to throw away their political ideology and the struggle for theocratic state will ended just like that. For me it just nothing, but only a poor political analysis especially for those who are on the opposite side.

The Selangor's booze sale controversy is a great example that PAS are yet to concede their political principle and the the pursuit of the implementation of Shariah will go on. And what more important is ,the application of Shariah only effect on Muslims and the for the non-muslims they are free to exercise their religions and belief.

Wallahua'lam.

Eviden kesensitifan Melayu-Islam kini tiada lagi...

Begitulah betapa kuatnya sentimen keIslaman umat Melayu-Islam terdahulu. Sanggup bermandi darah demi menyelamatkan akidah saudara seagama.

Please Give Truth A Chance...

His skin colour and religion might not same as me, but we hold the similarity as Malaysian citizen. Being a Malaysian he has every right to be treated fairly like others especially the Malays.

Teoh Beng Hock, a political secretary to Selangor State Exco, Ean Yong Hian Wah was found dead on a roof of a four-storey building next to the Selangor offices of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

The former Sinchew journalist believed to be taken the MACC's office on July 15th as a witness of Yong Hian Wah's corruption case and ended up died at 1.30 a day after.

Was there a foul play? Was it accidental ? Or maybe he commited suicide. These are the questions rakyat need to know.

Najib's aspiration of 1Malaysia promise us the slimmest of hope that truth will prevail somehow. And the culprit of Beng Hock's death will be brought up to the justice. My deepest condolence goes to Beng Hock's family and love ones.

The people of Malaysia want truth and answers.

Marwa al Sherbini : Barat Masih Berandaian Murahnya Darah Seorang Islam..

'We are free to wear what our religion orders us, just like you are free to follow your religions and believes...Our blood is not cheaper than yours'

Al-Fatihah buat Allahyarhamah Marwa Al Sherbini.

Did MJ died as a Muslim?

The king of pop is dead. Michael Joseph Jackson or better known as Michael Jackson finally met his Creator at the age of 50.

The former Jackson Five was pronounced dead after paramedics found him in a coma at his Bel-Air mansion.

World recognize MJ. Primary school kids know the king of pop. I bet you, even Islamic Scholars know who is Michael Jackson.

Me, myself remember when i was 8 year olds, an older friend of mine loves to impersonate MJ's stlye of dance. It was 'Billie Jean' that time.

During my childhood , we used to watch movies every weekend. We normally collected 20 cent each to rent a video tape from a video shop nearby.Any flick will do.

I still remember one day when one of my friend suggested us to watch a new released Michael Jackson : Thriller. It was a box office film during that time. I was so amazed after watching that movie and at the age of 8 years old, I grew up idolizing the great king of pop.

But, did he died as a muslim? Was MJ a muslim before? The question will be answered when he is buried? Daily Telegraph, one of the UK's top online newspaper reported in 2008, Nov 21st, that MJ has converted to Islam and change his name to Mikaeel.

He converted to Islam in a ceremony at a friend's house in Los Angeles. He is said to have sat on the floor and worn a small hat while an imam officiated.

However, the American pop star do has a practical Muslim brother name Muhammad Abdul Aziz or rather known as Jermaine Jackson.

The former Grammy Award winner and prolific songwriter himself embraced Islam in 1989 after a short interaction with a group of Muslims children.

In an exclusive interview with the editor of The Muslims News in February 2007, he revealed that his brother ( Michael Jackson) may soon convert to Islam. He was so confident Michael would convert to Islam one day.

Jermaine added, after back from Mecca, he got a lot of books for his brother and Michael had shown a lot of interest on Islam. He did asked Jermaine about his new religion and the latter explained the beautiful of Islam.

Could it the story above help us in justifying MJ's religion status ? Only Allah know best.

Alcohol Ban For Footie Fans in Rome..

In less than five hours time, football fans around the globe are set to witness the biggest showdown Europe had to offered in Rome. The much eagerly awaited Champion League Final will feature present England's most decorated club, Manchester United and Spanish's powerhouse Barcelona.

United whose are vying for their 4th silverware this season, surely need something extra special to stop Messi and company if they really want the trophy to stay in England. While for the Catalan giants, beating United in the final will be considered as revenge is done for their semi-final lost last year.

All eyes will be on Rome, a city of culture renowned for its historic background, where the finale are about to be held. Rome's police expected more about 30,000 of United's fan and 20,000 of Barca's fan to make their way to Stadio de Olimpico.

So, in order to restrain any football hooliganism ahead of the final clash, Rome's authorities enforce two days ban of the alcohol for every ticket holder.

Bars, restaurant and shops owners are advised not to sell alcohol to anyone who is already drunk and if there any breach of law, action will be taken immediately. Even glass container of any sort are banned near the stadium.More and more authorities from big city all around the world realize the good effect of banning the alcohol.

In Islam, liquor or alcohol are banned and prohibited. Even stern punishment awaits for those who drinks it. Let us examine the Quranic verses that are supposed the ban of the alcoholic drinks.

Quran 2:219 "They ask you concerning alcoholic drinks and Games of Chance, Say: In them are harm and good for men, but their harm exceeds their good effects"

Quran 5:90 "O ye who believe! intoxicants and gambling, (dedication of) and (divination by) arrows are abomination- Satan's handwork : so avoid it that may you prosper.

Two Quranic verses above, stand as a clear reminder that alcoholic drinks did not bring any good for us. Individual under the influence of alcohol mostly, may led him to unruly destructive behavior such as brawl, vandalism and intimidation. Because of that, liquor or alcoholic drinks are prohibited in Islam and non-muslims slowly realize the dark side of alcohol.

United's fan engaging war of words with the Rome's authorities.
