Zaid Ibrahim : A man with his words.

Zaid Ibrahim’s reign as de facto of law minister only last for only 5 month. The ex-MP of Kota Bharu resigned following his argument with the government upon the arrest of Raja Petra, Teresa Kok and Sin Chew Daily’s journalist Tan Hoon Cheng under the ISA.

Since appointed as Minister under Prime Minister Department, Zaid vowed to all Malaysian to bring our judiciary system back into the limelight after a few strings of judiciary crisis which was led to the Lingam’s fiasco.

Fully backed by the prime minister, he kicks off his sacred ‘mission’ by announcing that the government are ready to make an ex-gratia payment to all the judges whose were treated immorally during Tun Mahathir’s tenure as prime minister. Former Lord Judge Tun Salleh Abas is among the lucky ones.

But sadly his dreams are short lived as he tenders resignation to the prime minister criticizing the government for the abuse of the ISA. He’s truly a man with his words. A day before quitting the cabinet, he told the press conference that he will resign if the government continues to employ ISA on detainees and he proved that.

Historically, Zaid Ibrahim probably the first minister to hand over his job as his views and opinions are against the government’s policy. An action rarely done by any . Full credit to him and hopefully he’s not the last. Bravo brother Zaid!!
